Sonographic evaluation of Neck mass in useful in demonstrating the location, extent, and internal characteristics of a mass.
To purpose of our study was determine that any mass had a characteristic sonographic findings which would lead to an accurate diagnosis.
In summary sonography is a useful imaging method in evaluation of neck mass. Although all the masses of neck had not specific sonographic findings, in certain entities such as pleomorphic adenoma of salivary gland, cystic hygroma,
lipoma,
hemangioma, dumbell shape of neurogenic tumor and drmoid cyst had characteristic findings.
The Thyroglossal duct cyst and branchial cleft cyst also could be diagnosed with careful attention to their typical location and sonographic apperance.
